The successful candidate will undertake water and wastewater planning projects up to preliminary design level, including data acquisition tasks, field inspection of works and data analysis. Water and wastewater systems modelling will be part of the role, as will the application of GIS to analysis and reporting, and hydraulic design. The right person for the role will be enthusiastic and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team. They will be required to liaise with clients, consultants and authorities and will undertake occasional site visits. Working with engineers and project managers of other disciplines, as well as design technicians and drafters, the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative and have the drive to make things happen and see projects through to completion.
Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in InfoWorks CS, H2OMap SWMM and MikeUrban/​MOUSE, H2OMap, GoldSIM, WATHNET, IQQM, MUSIC, AQAULM and in MapInfo for GIS work. Some experience in AutoCad or similar CAD software would be advantageous, in particular for designing water and sewer works
  • Hydraulic design experience at a Concept Design level will be advantageous
  • The candidate should be able to converse professionally with clients and report to them on a day-​to-​day basis, as well as in the formal presentation of study results and the compilation of project reports
  • Candidates should have a comprehensive grasp of the English language and competent report writing skills.
